Dr Phillipson completed his medical degree in 1973 and became a Fellow of the Royal and New Zealand College of Psychiarists in 2002.  He has been in private practice in Toowoomba since 2005 and has a special interest in forensic/medico-legal assessments and reports.

Dr Phillipson is a member of the Medico-Legal Society of Queensland, Q Comp General Medical Assessment Tribunal, Psychiatrist Reference Panel Doctors Health Advisory Service Qld Inc and an Independent Medical Examiner for WorkCover Queensland.
