Dr Jennifer Lockwood - Psychiatrist

Dr Jennifer Lockwood graduated from the University of Queensland with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery in 1986, and became a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists in 1994.

Since completing her specialty training she has worked in a variety of roles that reflect her broad interests in psychiatry.  She has worked in the public sector in the areas of inpatient care, community psychiatry, Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry (with particular experience in infectious diseases and palliative care) and early psychosis intervention.

She has worked for the University of Queensland as a clinical lecturer and was the Director of Post Graduate Training in Queensland for 2 years.

Since 2000, she has worked in private practice as a general psychiatrist with an interest in psychotherapeutic treatments.  Dr Lockwood has been doing regular medico-legal assessments and reports since 2000, and has been working with Medconsultants since early 2006.  Dr Lockwood has completed the Permanent Impairment Rating Scale (PIRS).

Special interests:  Post-traumatic stress disorder, depression and psychosis.
