Dr Phil Lockie - General Surgeon

MB BCh MPhil FRCSI(Gen) FRACS Upper GI, Bariatric, Laparoscopic Hernia Specialist

Dr Lockie is an Australian and UK trained Upper GI and Laparoscopic surgeon. He was trained mainly in the UK before completing an Upper GI Fellowship at Royal North Shore Hospital in Sydney and this was followed by a Laparoscopic Surgical Fellowship in Canberra. During his training, he completed a research thesis resulting in a Master of Philosophy Degree and he won the UK Intensive Care Society’s Travelling Fellowship that allowed him to visit trauma centres in Denver, Memphis and Seattle. He was awarded his Fellowship from the Irish College of Surgeons in 1985 and won the Gold Medal at the Intercollegiate Examination in General Surgery in February 2003.  Dr Lockie was the first surgeon from Belfast ever to win the Gold Medal.  He was awarded his Fellowship from the Australian College of Surgeons in 2006.

Dr Lockie specialises in laparoscopic and minimally invasive surgery of the abdomen and gastrointestinal tract. He is a member of the European Hernia Society and has a particular interest in the laparoscopic repair of groin and abdominal hernias.

Dr Jonathan Mann - Psychiatrist

MBBS, FRANZCP

Dr Mann completed his medical degree at the University of Queensland in 2000.  He became a Fellow of the Royal and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists in 2008 and completed a Certificate of Advanced Training in Forensic Psychiatry with the RANZCP IN 2009.

Dr Mann has experience in medico-legal report writing on a range of psychiatric issues in both criminal and civil areas.  His clinical experience includes schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, anxiety, substance abuse/dependence and post traumatic stress disorder.

Special Appointments

  • Sitting Medical Member of the Mental Health Review Tribunal;
  • Chief Training supervisor for The Park - Centre for Mental Health;
  • Associate Lecturer in Clinical Psychiatry, University of Queensland.
